This movie really has stood the test of time! Its been over 20 years since I first watched it and have recently viewed again with my 2 year old daughter who loved it just as much as I did when I was a child.

The Story follows young Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) through the Labyrinth after she inadvertently summons the Goblin King Jareth (David Bowie) who takes her baby brother Toby (Toby Froud) to his castle at the center of the Labyrinth.

Sarah pleads with Jareth not to take Toby away but the Goblin King refuses and instead makes a deal with Sarah!

If Sarah can find her way to the Goblin Castle within 13 hours Jareth will release Toby and allow him to return home with Sarah, if not “your baby brother becomes one of us… forever”

Along the way Sarah meets many strange and wonderful characters including:

Hoggle – A Dwarf that resides in Jareth’s Labyrinth who loves shiny objects and hates Fairies!

Ludo – A gentle giant of a Goblin,Sarah first meets ludo when he is held captive by some other Goblins, once he is set free by Sarah they become close friends and he helps her out of more than a few sticky situations!

Sir Didymus – The Guard of the entrance to “The Bog Of Eternal Stench”

Didymus is a Fox-Terrier who thinks he is a gallant Knight , riding his trusty steed who is actually a dog called Ambrosius.

Together they battle through the Labyrinth to find Toby and release him from the clutches of the Goblin King Jareth.

Do they succeed? Watch to find out! its a great flick and suitable for all the family so if you haven’t seen it already put it on your list as this is one of the all time greatest family favorites.
